Yuri A. Melnikov, Ph.D., Dr.Sc.

Dr. Yuri A. Melnikov had joined the Department of Mathematical Sciences (then, Department of Mathematics and Statistics) of the Middle Tennessee State University in 1992. He came to MTSU after spending one semester as a Fulbright Visiting Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Vanderbilt University.

He has received his professional training in Applied Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering in the former Soviet Union, where prior to coming to the United States he had served for the last over ten years as a Chair of the Department of Computational Mathematics at Dnipropetrovsk National University (Ukraine).

The field of his expertise is construction and implementation of Green’s functions for applied partial differential equations in continuum mechanics.
