Licensure web site. Do you have any questions about licensure programs available at Middle
Tennessee State University? Please feel welcome to contact our office. This web site
includes a Request for a
Transcript Analysis Form, a MTSU Application for
Tennessee State Teacher License, general
information regarding teacher education programs available at MTSU, and information
regarding current (as of date of this posting) National Teacher Examination requirements,
also known as "NTEs". The Office of Teacher Licensure is located in the McWherter Learning
Resources Center - LRC,(#22 on the Campus Map) Room 175.

Undergraduates
If you are an undergraduate (including undergraduate transfer) student you will be
advised by a faculty member in your major area. If you are an undergraduate student who is
working on a license for secondary education, you will be advised by a faculty member in
your minor area, as well.
Post-baccalaureate students
If you have already obtained a bachelor’s degree and would like to pursue a
teacher licensure program at Middle Tennessee State University as a post-baccalaureate
student, please fill out the Request for a Transcript Analysis form.
This form is available for downloading on this web site. Please be aware that you must
return request forms through the U.S. mail or in person. We cannot accept email requests.
Additional endorsement students
If you are a Tennessee licensed teacher and would like to add an endorsement to your
Tennessee teacher license, please fill out the Request for a Transcript Analysis form.

Graduate degree
students pursuing initial licensure
If you are working on a graduate degree program at Middle Tennessee in Biology
(M.S.T.), Foreign Languages (M.A.T.), or Mathematics (M.S.T.), and you are interested in
pursuing your initial Tennessee teacher license, please fill out the Request for a
Transcript form. This form is available for downloading on this web site.
Applying for the License
If you have recently completed a teacher preparation program at MTSU and need to apply
for the license, you can download a copy of the MTSU application
form from this web site. Please be aware that you must return application forms
through the U.S. mail or in person. We cannot accept email requests.
