Preliminaries: Make sure you have the Data Analysis Toolpak loaded.

• To check to see if you have the Data Analysis Toolpak you need to:
  • Click on Tools at the top of the main menu, and look to see if Data Analysis is near the bottom.
    • If it is there, skip to Entering the Data section.
  • If Data Analysis is not under the Tools menu, then you need to:
    • Select Tools> Add-Ins
    • Mark the box beside Analysis Toolpak then click OK.
    • To verify that it is now installed, select Tools, and you should see Data Analysis near the bottom of the list.

*If Analysis ToolPak is not listed in the Add-Ins dialog box, click Browse and locate the drive, folder name, and file name for the Analysis ToolPak add-in, Analys32.xll - usually located in the Microsoft Office\Office\Library\Analysis folder - or run the Setup program if it isn't installed. (This last step is courtesy Microsoft help menu.)
