  • Research Methods in HHP (HHP6610)
The purpose of this research methods course is to provide the graduate students with an overview and necessary skills of research methods. Specifically, the course is designed to prepare the students to: read, understand, and evaluate research; conceptualize and plan research in the graduate student’s specialty area; utilize the appropriate research techniques and skills to conduct their research; and, finally prepare and present a proposed research project.

  • Data Analysis and Organization for Human Performance (HHP6700)
The data analysis/data organization course is to help graduate students become better researchers and data analysts for research projects in the areas of health and human performance.  This course is designed to learn how to write research questions and hypotheses, organize data, create variables for analysis, choose the appropriate statistical test for your research questions and hypotheses, use SPSS to get your results, and interpret the results.

  • Research Seminar in Human Performance (HHP7030)
The course is designed to learn about the theory and application of meta-analytic techniques for quantitative analysis and review of scientific literature. The conceptual and statistical bases of meta-analysis are reviewed, selected meta-analyses are critiqued, and basic skills of meta-analysis are applied.

  • Current Measurement Issues in Human Performance (HHP7300)
The focus of this course is to provide students with an overview of advanced measurement concepts in the field of health and human performance.  Emphasis will be placed on the applications of measurement theories (e.g., item response theory), test or survey construction, statistical techniques, reliability and validity assessment, and computer software for measurement research.

  • Advanced Data Analysis and Organization for Human Performance (HHP7700)
Skills and understanding necessary to read, conduct, report, and interpret advanced data analytical techniques using data from health and human performance. Practical and written assignments, presentations, examinations, and projects will furnish doctoral student with tools necessary for data analysis associated with dissertation requirement.
