Ken Blake, Ph.D., holds a doctorate in mass communication from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and is an associate professor of journalism at Middle Tennessee State University, where he teaches media writing, computer-assisted reporting, media theory, and quantitative research methods. He also is director of MTSU's Office of Communication Research, which conducts the MTSU Poll, a twice-a-year public opinion poll of Tennessee adults. He can be reached at drkblake@gmail.com.

Tricia Farwell, Ph.D. graduated from Arizona State University and is an assistant professor of advertising and public relations at Middle Tennessee State University, where she teaches a variety of courses in the advertising and public relations sequences and occasionally media writing.
